Halfway through

I am a little more than halfway through this book. Someone asked me how it was going the other day so I thought I would give a little update on the book. For starters I can say I am sure learning a lot about myself and changing things that need to be changed. I can tell a difference already. For each Principle I just jotted down some things that stuck out to me.

Principle 1 Live Passionately:
*We get to decide how we're going to use our dash
*Some day is right now
*As difficult and frightening as your life may be right now, God is still there.
*If you want to live with no regrets, you may need to inventory your life and see how you've been spending your time.
*Be constantly connected to God
*Spend our time the way He wants us to
*Let go of the monkey bars and let God catch you
*We may not understand what God is doing at the time but we can always trust His heart
*Failure is never fatal. We have the God of the second chance and He wants to give us the power to begin again

Principle 2 Love Completely:
*We need to experience the fullness of God's love for us in order to die to our selfish desires and give freely to others.
*Ephesians 3:17-19
*You don't understand how much He loves you
*If you try to live without forgiving, you won't survive
*If we want to enjoy our lives to the fullest, we must release the bitterness
*To accept others means that we stop trying to change them and we start trying to understand them
*When you get historical, don't be surprised if the other person gets hysterical
*God intentionally places some people in our lives to rub us the wrong way, to smooth the rough edges of our character so that we're more like Jesus
*When we are thankful, we become more content and full of the peace that only He can provide
*Gratitude expands our capacity to enjoy life
*You gain respect when you speak directly.

I don't talk about too personal of things on here, but this book has helped me with some things that I am currently struggling with, especially Principle 2. I have two more Principles to go through and am excited to see what they bring. If anyone wants to borrow the book, let me know. It's a good one.

It went the wrong way

The scale that is. I was up 2 pounds from last week, which is a disappointment but isn't going to break me. I am back on track starting today. My goal for this week is to lose at least 3 pounds..hopefully 4 but would be happy with 3.

HaPpY bIrThDaY

George Washington!! What George doesn't know is that a very special boy shares this day with him. That is THIS special boy:

(sorry for the picture theft. i don't have any recent ones of C...and I just love this one)

Happy 4th Birthday Carson!! I can't say how special and how much we love this little guy. He is SO funny and just melts your heart. I love how every morning when I drop the girls off he runs over to M, gives her a hug while saying "Hi my sweetie pie" then he helps take off her coat and shoes (if she kept them on). I love when he calls me Kimmy. He is our sweetie pie.

Hope you have a fantastic day Carson!!

Tis the season...

For colds and other sickness. Maleigha developed a cough a few days ago. Yesterday morning as I was getting ready for work I noticed she was wheezy. Kelly emailed me and said the same thing so I decided to call the dr. Of course since she was wheezy they wanted to see her. The DR could hear fluid but didn't know if it was in her lungs or not. So they put some saline up her nose and used a powered suction and sucked out some of her boogers. It did make her sound better but you could still hear the wheezing. The DR diagnosed her with Bronchiolitis. If her oxygen level was low they were going to admit her and give her oxygen. Luckily it was 100%. So I left with instructions of just watching her breathing and if she struggled to take her into the ER that night. We did have a rough night and there were a few times I thought I may have to take her in but decided against it. She was up from 2-430 just laying there awake. She would randomly wake up and cry throughout the night. Poor baby. So I stayed home from work today to be with her. She is already taking a nap and I should be taking advantage of this time to do some cleaning. The doctor did say if anyone over the age of 1 catches it that it would just be a bad cold. Hopefully Kylee doesn't catch it!

And she is off...

Maleigha has FINALLY started crawling. She took her first moves today and I caught it on my phone.

I am so glad that I was able to see it happen for the first time! With working full time I miss out on a lot of the "firsts" so I am glad she waited for me.

There is ONE spot left in my post below...any takers??

Pay it forward

Who wants to play along?? I just read about this on Bethany's blog and am excited to play along! Here are the rules:

If you want to join in the fun and get a little something in return ... be one of the first THREE people to leave a comment on this post and you'll receive a hand made gift from me during this year. There's a small catch...You knew there would be didn't you? Post this on your blog (or Facebook* wall if you don't blog) referencing this post then come back and leave a comment on this blog post, telling me you're in. Fun, huh? And by in, you do know that means you have to Pay It Forward and give something to three people on your blog or Facebook page. I don't even care if you make something ... just giving something is good with me! I am not all that crafty so my items will not be hand made.

Remember, only the first 3 comments receive the gift from me. When and what will be a surprise!

Random happenings

*For my weigh in today I stayed the same as last week. Down 10 pounds total. I am not as frustrated with staying the same this week..womanly issues (TMI??) are to blame for this time around.

*I volunteered at the Special Olympics yesterday. What an experience!! I wish I would have signed up to help out for more than just one day but I did enjoy and will forever remember the time I spent there yesterday. This is a picture of me with one of the Team USA floor hockey members as well as a couple other volunteers.

*Little Miss M turned 10 months last week. I can't believe it! She still isn't crawling but is oh so close! Kylee was walking at 10 months so to have M not even crawling yet is odd. She is the baby of many noises. I snapped some video of her with my camera the other day. Enjoy!

30 days...

I don't think I have ever talked about religion or anything too personal on here. I have a hard time expressing how I feel and sometimes what I believe in. I find it easier to just keep it all to myself.
However, I have been going to church with Jeff and Andrea off and on since March. I really enjoy their church. Todays sermon is one that has really tugged at my heart and I feel like sharing what I got from it.
We are going through a series called Thirty Days to a No-Regrets Life. Just in today's sermon it has made me look at my life and think of things that I need/want to change. One of the biggest things I want to change is my patience level, especially with Kylee. Even though I may have had a long day at work, my job isn't done when I get home. During the week we don't have a lot of time to spend together when we get home. We have dinner, homework, and a bath to do all before bedtime. I need to spend that time with her, focusing on her and being patient with her. I need to realize that there is nothing on the internet or any other distraction that that can't wiat until she is in bed. My goal this next week and for every night after that is to not turn on the computer until after the girls are in bed. One thing that the Pastor said that really stuck out to me is to not over estimate the power of tomorrow. I need to be in the now and enjoy my time with the girls while I have it. The other little things can wait.
On top of the sermons, I have joined a Small Group at Andrea's house on Sunday nights. We just started this book. I am excited as I start this study and am excited to make the changes that I need to make.

And the winner is....

Me!!

Just kidding...

I had Kylee pick a number between 1 and 5. She chose number 4. So that means the real winner is:

Mom!!

Congrats!

Just for fun...

Everyone likes to win something right? It's been a little while since I have done a contest, so here we go. No fancy rules, just leave a comment saying hi or anything you would like to say. Comment as many times as you would like. I will have Kylee draw a winner Saturday so be sure to comment by Saturday morning. Winner gets a $4.00 gift certificate here.

Good Luck!

Tuesday Weigh In

I must admit that this week was another frustrating week for me. I was eating just my daily points but I was staring at the same stupid number on the scale for 6 days. 6 days!! I changed a few of my food items yesterday hoping that would help. It did. I stepped on the scale this morning and was done 2 pounds! I was VERY happy. With those 2 pounds, that is 10 total. Thanks to this helpful motivator, I realized I am halfway to my first small goal (losing 20 pounds)!
