Hair

Kylee did SO good during her appointment yesterday. The lady decided to straighten her hair so she could make sure she was cutting it good. Kylee about burst with excitement. It only took about 45 minutes to straighten and then cut. It looks so cute straight, but I am just not used to it! I told the lady she made Kylee's day! Here is what she looks like:

It is pretty long too:

She loves it! She wanted to keep it straight for a while so I bought a cap thing for her to wear at night. She woke up some time during the middle of the night and came to tell me her cap had fallen off. I just said ok but she was really worried that her hair would not be straight when she got up. Silly girl!

Now that's more like it....

This week was MUCH better than last week. I was down 3 pounds so that now makes a total of 8 pounds. I haven't exercised since letting my knees rest and get better, but now it's back to it. I rented a few DVDs from the library, but I am always open to suggestions. So if you have a good exercise DVD, feel free to share the name.

On a side note, I am taking Kylee to get her hair cut today. I am very excited. I have take her to a few people who claim they have experience with curly hair, but then end up cutting like a 1/2 inch off and it doesn't really make a difference. So I am hoping this place will know what to do and help me out with her hair. Come back tomorrow for some pictures of her new style.

Our weekend...

Don't be fooled, our weekend isn't quite over yet! I am off until Thursday! Woo hoo!!

Here is a brief recap of the past 3 days we won't call a weekend:

Friday:
Kylee had her first sleepover. Granted it was just one friend, but still a sleepover. They get a long really well. It was fun listening to them play. They had pizza, a movie and popcorn and stayed up until 1030. They woke up around 745 Saturday morning.

Saturday:
Maleigha hasn't been feeling too good (she is getting her top 2 teeth in) so she slept on and off for most of the day. Kylee's friend stayed until about 430 and then we took her home. After I dropped her friend off I ran to Winco to grab some groceries and then we had a relaxing evening at home. Kylee and I both rented movies from Redbox. She got one called The Retrievers and I got Traitor. It was pretty good.

Sunday:
We skipped church today and continued our lazy weekend. We did venture out to Walmart around 4 this afternoon, but other than that we haven't been doing much.I love lazy weekends!

Frustrating.

That is how I am describing this last week. Just as the members of the Biggest Loser had a hard 2nd week, I did too. I somehow hurt both my knees bad, like it hurt to walk and stand bad. So I wasn't able to exercise like I was the first week. So for my weigh in today, I have stayed the same as last week. Normally this would be the point where I give up. Not this time. I will do better this week.

My turn..

to talk about our visit to Build a Bear. As explained here and here, our Aunt gave all the kids a gift card to Build a Bear for Christmas. Kylee LOVES that store. I was happy I was able to meet them up there on my lunch and join in the fun. Here are some cute pictures Kelly snapped:

**Well apparently I have exceeded my limit of photo storage..bear with me as I try and figure out what to do now! My Picasa site is full and I don't want to pay for more space...hmmm...I will try to return with our cute pictures! But for now, thank you Aunt Ni Ni for all the fun!

Weigh in

Since last Tuesday I have lost another 3 lbs. That makes a total of 5 lbs in week and a half.

I was a bit discouraged that it is coming off slowly. I usually lose more during the first week, BUT as I watched the Biggest Loser tonight, I did notice that I lost more than a couple of players on there in 1 week. :0) That made me feel a bit better. Although the show did make me cry tonight. I also keep telling myself that it is better to lose it slowly and correctly rather than fast and end up gaining it all back. Now that I have the first week under my belt, I am adjusting to my new lifestyle.

9 months???*Edited with pictures*

It's true. Maleigha turned 9 months old on January 2nd. She had her 9 month check up this past Friday. She weighs 18lbs 8oz. She only gained 4 oz in 3 months! She is in the 50% for weight..compare that to the 95th she was in at 6 months. I can't remember her exact height ( and I am too lazy to go find the paper the DR wrote it on) but she is in the 45% for height. She is doing great. Although she is not yet crawling ( and doesn't really show an interest in doing so) she is growing like crazy! The thing that made me sad was when the DR said ok, we will see you back for your 1 year appt. 1 year??!? Yikes!!

So I don't have a 9 month picture, but I will possibly snap one tomorrow. :0)

Ok so here are two I snapped really quick (yes I propped her up).

My first weigh in

If you are not sure what I am referring to, check out the post below.

I started on Sunday and for my first weigh in today, I was down 2 pounds. Woo hoo!!

Sunday, January 4, 2009

I have not posted a post ALL year...

That was for you Andrea. :0)
Stick with me...it's gonna be a long one.

We haven't been up to too much since Christmas, just laying low and spending some of our Christmas money. The kids and I stayed at my parents house Wednesday-Friday night, coming home Saturday afternoon. It was nice to just be away. It worked out well too because Maleigha ended up getting sick Wednesday and is just barely getting over it. So it helped to have someone there to help me with her and Kylee. Thanks mom and dad!! My sisters, mom and I went shopping New Years Day. I didn't find too much, but did score these good deals at Old Navy:

I also got one other shirt but I didn't take a picture of it. They were all on sale so that made me happy!
I also got this super cute planner:

Hopefully it will keep me organized.
Friday I ended up taking Maleigha into the doctor. For two nights in a row, she would wake up every hour to 2 hours just crying. Plus she was pulling at her ears so I thought maybe she had an ear infection. Nope just a cold. Better safe than sorry.
Saturday we just bummed around, letting Maleigha catch up on some sleep. I was able to stop by the Shoe Carnival store and spend most of the rest of my Christmas money. I got these:

And my favorite new shoes:

How cute are those?? I LOVE them!
Today I stayed home from church with Maleigha. She still has a yucky cough and I figured most people wouldn't be thrilled I was sharing it with them. Kylee went with Andrea and Jeff (thanks for picking her up). After church, I took Kylee on a mystery trip. My parents met us there and took Maleigha so we could have a Mommy and Kylee afternoon. She was SO excited. It was so cute! We went and saw this movie. I LOVED it and yes I even cried. When we first got there she wanted my mom to come watch it with us. I told her that grandma had to watch Maleigha so she said well how about grandma watches Maleigha and Bob comes with us. I said how about we just go by ourselves. She was very excited when got popcorn and a pop. She held the popcorn the whole time. She looked so grown up sitting in the chair and laughing at the movie. It was cute.
After the movie we ran by Walmart where I let her spend some of her Christmas money. That girl LOVES animals. Always has. She picked out an Animal Planet Panda Bear that came with a movie. She named her panda Biscuit and hasn't let her go since we got it. We both had a good time..just the two of us. Thanks mom and dad for watching M for me.

Ok so now onto Part 2 of this post. Anyone recall this post? Way back in October? I even put up a tracker that moved...um 1 time. I did have a couple of people mention that they noticed the tracker hadn't moved. That didn't motivate me..which it should have. But now I am back in the game. For real. I am literally disgusted with myself. I want to be a good example for my girls and don't want them to have to go through what I have gone through.
So I bought this DVD today. I did one session of it tonight. My goal is to do one session in the morning and one at night. The one I did today kicked my butt. I also bought some healthy food and am back to writing down my points (Weight Watchers). My plan is to weigh in every Tuesday, the same night the Biggest Loser is on (new episode starts this week). I stole that idea from my sister but I think it will be good. I plan to weigh in Tuesday mornings and then post my results some time on Tuesday--good or bad. I am sticking with it this time!
