So Proud!

Kylee received her virtue award today. I am SO proud of my bean! Her teacher had nothing but great things to say about Kylee. On top of receiving her award today, she is also the first 1st grader that her teacher has ever had who has passed more than 200 AR tests! They gave her award out during an assembly and it was fun to watch her sit with her classmates and giggle and particpate during the assembly. She has grown so much since she has started school and it has been fun to see. Amazing that she will be 7 on Sunday!! WWAW

No that is not a typo. WWAW stands for Weight Watchers at Work. I joined last week just for the extra motivation and accountability. Plus, since I have the hospital insurance, I get reimbursed 80% up to $500 yearly. How can you beat that?!? So for my first weigh in today, I am down 1.6 pounds. So that is a start.

I also subscribe to the WW magazine. I found a recipe that sounded good so I decided to try it out. I made it tonight and it was yummy! Kylee even ate it! This is what we had:

How yummy does that look?!? Here is the S.I.M.P.L.E recipe:

Cajun Fish:

2 Tbsp all-purpose flour

1 tsp Cajun or Creole seasoning (I used Cajun)

1/8 tsp salt

1/8 tsp pepper

4 (5-oz) skinless Tilapia or catfish fillets (I used Tilapia)

2 tsp olive oil

Lemon wedges (forgot these but would have been good!)

1. Mix the flour, seasoning, salt, and pepper on a sheet of wax paper.

2. Working with one fillet at a time, place it skin side down in the flour mixture to coat one side only;press the top so that the mixture adheres.

3. Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add fillets, floured side down. reduce the heat to medium; cover and cook just until the fillets are opaque in the center, 4-6 minutes. Serve with the lemon wedges.

Pink Robe

My friend Cassie had given me a few baby items while I was pregnant with Maleigha. I never used a robe with Kylee (however now she wants one) but I hung onto this for some reason. I use it most nights with M and just think it is too cute. Here are some pictures from tonight:

New hair

My talented friend Crystal did my hair yesterday and I LOVE it. I am not really sure why my face looks like this in this picture, but maybe this is what it normally looks like? Anyways, here area couple pictures:











I had her do dark brown, red, and blonde. I don't think I missed any to many other colors. :0) I guess you can't really see the red in the picture but it's there.

*While driving one night this past week Kylee was making a noise that made Maleigha CRACK UP. It was SO funny. I tried to get them to do it again once we got home, it didn't work quite as well but this video still makes me smile. You can also see Maleigha doing her "new trick." She looks like a little chipmunk. Towards the end of the video I was going to sing Happy Birthday (it makes her laugh) but decided not to so it sounds funny. Anyways, ENJOY!!

Shall we play catch up?

VI was on a roll blogging wise, but seem to have been slacking lately! Here are some of what we have been up to:

*M's first birthday party last weekend. It was a low key but fun party. Thank you Kelly for all you did! Pictures will be up in a few days...I promise! To hold you over, click here for cake pictures.

*I received a letter in the mail saying announcing that Kylee would be receiving a virtue award for her school. The virtue she is receiving the award in is Responsibility. The letter says that the children who are receiving this award are willing to be accountable for their actions. Others can depend on them. They keep their agreements and give their best to any job. I am SO proud of her. The assembly in which she will receive this award it April 30th.

*Work last week kept me B.U.S.Y!

*Maleigha had her 1 year check up on Thursday. She is 21lbs 8oz and 29 inches. She is in the 50th% for both. The doctor wants to keep her on her breathing treatment for 2 more months.

*We helped celebrate Maddy's 6th birthday! After her party the kids colored eggs and we had a fun family dinner.

*Today we enjoyed an awesome church service, 2 fun eggs hunts, and a yummy Easter meal. Look here for all our Easter pics. You will find a TON of pictures!

*I thought my head was back in the weight loss game last week, but it wasn't. This week is a new week and I will get out of the funk I am in. My goal is to be down 8 lbs this month.

Sneak peek...

We celebrated Maleigha's 1st birthday Saturday! Andrea took 71 pictures of her just eating the cake!! I loved how they all turned out and can't wait to see the rest!!

1 already?!?

It is hard to believe that just one year ago at this time I was preparing to meet the newest addition to our family. My C-Section was scheduled for 1pm and I was getting nervous! We checked into the hospital and they started prepping me. Those 2 hours flew by and the next thing I know I am walking back to the OR. Boy is that place freezing!! I remember them making sure I couldn't feel anything and then just waiting. I feel some tugging and pressure and then hear the sweetest cry and then talk of how hairy this sweet thing is! I finally got to hold her





Before I had M I was SO nervous about having two kids. I had always heard you love them just the same but Kylee and I had such a bond, I wasn't sure if that was possible. Knowing my concerns a friend shared this poem with me:

Loving Two

I walk along holding your 4-year-old hand, basking in the glow of our magical relationship. Suddenly I feel a kick from within, as if to remind me that our time alone is limited. And I wonder: how could I ever love another child as I love you?
Then she is born, and I watch you. I watch the pain you feel at having to share me as you’ve never shared me before.
I hear you telling me in your own way, “Please love only me”. And I hear myself telling you in mine, “I can’t”, knowing, in fact, that I never can again.
You cry. I cry with you. I almost see our new baby as an intruder on the precious relationship we once shared. A relationship we can never quite have again.
But then, barely noticing, I find myself attached to that new being, and feeling almost guilty. I’m afraid to let you see me enjoying her, as though I am betraying you.
But then I notice your resentment change, first to curiosity, then to protectiveness, finally to genuine affection.
More days pass, and we are settling into a new routine. The memory of days with just the two of us is fading fast.
But something else is replacing those wonderful times we shared, just we two. There are new times – only now, we are three. I watch the love between you grow, the way you look at each other, touch each other.
I watch how she adores you – as I have for so long. I see how excited you are by each of her new accomplishments. And I begin to realize that I haven’t taken something from you, I’ve given something to you. I notice that I am no longer afraid to share my love openly with both of you.
I find that my love for each of you is as different as you are, but equally strong. And my question is finally answered, to my amazement. Yes, I can love another child as much as I love you – only differently.
And although I realize that you may have to share my time, I now know you’ll never share my love. There’s enough of that for both of you – you each have your own supply.
I love you – both. And I thank you both for blessing my life.




Maleigha LOVES her big sister and her big sister LOVES her. I am excited to see their relationship continue to grow.
So with all that said, I want to wish Maleigha a happy first birthday! There are so many things I love about this little girl
