4 weeks and The Bumbo

It is hard to believe Maleigha is 4 weeks old today. The time has flown by!! It's been fun seeing how much she has changed in the first 4 weeks. She is starting to smile real smiles and attempting to "talk". She hates being naked, getting her diaper changed, and taking a bath. She loves being held--she is a good at snuggling. She loves being talked to and looking around. She is starting to be awake more during the day. She has been sleeping 3-4 hours at night since she was born and is still going that long.
Here is her "official" 4 week picture:

Kelly gave her this elephant--I love it! Kylee had fun dressing the elephant in one of Maleigha's onesies...the elephant even has a diaper on!!

Now onto The Bumbo. We sat Maleigha in it yesterday:

Another first...

I took Maleigha on her first "real" walk yesterday afternoon. She looked extra little in the big stroller but she loved being outside and was soon fast asleep.

She has discovered her thumb once before but this time I was able to snap a quick picture of it:

Last night we had our usual Monday Night Dinner at my parents. We put Graham and Maleigha next to each other and I snapped a few pictures (don't mind her wet shirt--she likes to spit up):

We have a picture of Kylee and Garrett just like the ones above..as soon as I can find a copy I will post it.

Beautiful weekend

The weather this weekend was wonderful!! Saturday I had a baby shower to go to and Kylee spent the day helping Bob with yard work. She had a blast and even rode his "tractor."

Today started off with church. This afternoon we joined the Foss crew for dinner at the park followed by some yummy milkshakes that Jeff made. Here are some cute pictures from the park:

Happy, Happy Thursday

Many reasons why today was a happy day:

*Spending the morning with Kylee--making french toast for breakfast, taking her to school.

*Hanging out with Cassie

*Finding a good deal on jeans for Kylee. Regular $30--got them for $10!!

*Receiving these in the mail for Kylee. She of course chose the fuschia ones!!

*All new Grey's AND Lost!!!!

Oh what a happy day it was!!

Update #2

Today was my follow up appointment. I got there late--oops..but my doctor was delivering a baby so it all worked out. I ended up leaving and going to lunch with Sarah. It was good to catch up with her. I headed back to the doctor at 1230. My doctor gave me 2 movie tickets and apologized foe me having to leave and come back--it was nice!!
Ok onto the appointment. She did another ultrasound and gave me the ok. She saw a little bit of fluid but nothing to be concerned about. I was relieved!!

Maleigha is 3 weeks old today!! The time has flown by!! Here is a picture I snapped of her while I was in the waiting room today.

She was so good today! She was awake for most of the day but the only time she cried was when she got hungry!!

I am planning on getting my hair cut in a few weeks. Here are a couple of cuts I am looking at:
1.

2.

They may look a lot alike..the first one is "stacked" in the back and the second one is the same length all the way around. Opinions??

A couple of days last week, Andrea took some super cute pictures of Maleigha. She gave me the CD of them today and I LOVE them!! I have created a new photo album to the side with them in it. It is called Maleigha Newborn Pics. Thank you Andrea!!!

Kelly so kindly did Maleigha's announcements for me. She ordered them for me as well...all I had to do was have the kid and pay her! :0) I received them today and love them as well! Thank you Kelly! Here are the annoucements:

Update #1

Since I have put a ban on weekend updates while I am on maternity leave, I can post on a Saturday right?!?

Here is the update from my dr appt yesterday: long story short I still have some junk left in me from when I had the baby. She put me on some medicine to take all weekend in hopes that my body will pass this on it's own. I go back Wednesday. If it is still there then I will have to have the D and C.

She also gave me 3 options to help control my Endometriosis. I am leaning towards this option. If I go with that I need to decide soon and she will do the procedure in 3 weeks.

Today I was able to have some mommy and Kylee time. She has been wonderful in this whole transition. We went to lunch, to the library, and to Walmart where she happily spent some of her money on a little toy. It was nice to spend some time -- just the two of us again. Thank you mom and dad for watching Maleigha!!

Will I ever be normal?!?

In having this C-Section, I have found out some things about my body that is making me wonder if I will ever be normal again!

Without going into a lot of detail, I have to go back to the doctor at 8 tomorrow. She is going to do an ultrasound and possibly have to do a D and C tomorrow. She told me not to eat after midnight just in case.

Obviously I am hoping everything is fine and I will just be sent home. I will keep you all updated. :0)

2 week check up

What a long day!! Here is what we did today:

*Maleigha's 2 week check up at 1040am. She is doing wonderful!! She weighed in at 7lbs 6oz and is still 19 1/2 inches. She is in the 50th percentile for both. She had her PKU test done and did soooo good! She only "cried" one little cry and was done. I think she got more upset when they put the bandaid on.

*My 2 week check up at 1130am. My incision looked really good...she said I was blistering a little bit because of the tape but overall it was good. She gave me some options regarding what to do with the Endometriosis. I need to call back tomorrow because I have a few questions I forgot to ask.

*Lunch at 1230 with some of my co-workers. It was nice to see them and we enjoyed some yummy Thai food.

*Pictures with Andrea at 230. They turned out cute!! I am planning on going back tomoorow to do a few more.

*AWANA Fair at 630. Kylee had a blast and was beyond thrilled when she realized there were pony rides!! It was cute.

Now we are alll beat!! I will post those pictures as soon as they are done.

Is there such a thing as a weekend anymore?!?

I have decided that while I am on maternity leave, the days all run together so there is no such thing as a weekend anymore. Therefore, there is no weekend recap for the next two months. :0)

Our "weekend" was pretty relaxed but fun. Saturday we helped celebrate Abigail's birthday. She had a fun pajama party. Sunday I ran some errands with my mom and then we joined the Munger's to look at a house they are interested in. We then went out to pizza. It wears both Maleigha and I out when we are out and about but it is so nice to get out.

We both have doctor's appoitments on Wednesday. It will be our first outing alone. I am a tad nervous as to what the doctor is going to tell me about my test results and what the next steps are.

After my appointment I am going to join some of my co-workers for lunch and then Andrea is going to take Maleigha's pictures---I am so excited!!

Speaking of her pictures...here are a few I took today while she was sleeping--so sweet!!

The good news and the expected news....

After I had Maleigha and they were finishing things up on me, I heard the doctor say something to one of her assistants about how she saw a mass and was wondering what she should do about it. They had already taken my mom and the baby out of the room so I was laying there by myself listening to her talk about this mass. The mass soon turned into the word tumor. That's when I started worrying. She decided to take some of it to biopsy.
While I laid there thinking about this tumor, I next hear this:
"Kimberly, has anyone ever diagnosed you with endometriosis?"
Uh no but I am assuming you just did--that's what was running through my head by I simply just said no.
Once she finally got me put back together I was wheeled off to the recovery room. She came in later to say that she found a tumor on my ovary that she took a sample of and it was sent to the lab. She also said that I have what she thinks is endometriosis all over. She also took a sample of that and sent it to the lab.
So...the good news is the tumor is benign. The expected news is the other sample did come back as endometriosis. I have a 2 week follow up appointment on Wednesday and she will talk to me more about it when I go in.

I finally got the pictures from my camera. I have created a photo album--titled 'Maleigha' on the right side. In looking at those pictures, I can't believe how much she has changed in such a short time.

Here is the video of Kylee reading--with some help from my mom. She LOVES to read and is doing such an awesome job with it. I am so proud of her!!

One week ago today....

I can't believe it has already been a week since Maleigha has been born. She is such a sweet and happy baby---I am blessed with two wonderful girls. Kylee has been the best big sister---always willing to help out and loves to hold and kiss her baby sister. I can't wait to see how their relationship grows.

Maleigha had her one week check up yesterday. she is 1oz from being back to her birth weight. The doctor said she looks very healthy.

I still haven't taken the photos from my camera, but here are a couple of pictures I took with my phone this morning:

I will take some better pictures and try to have them posted soon.

My life since Wednesday.......

Wednesday:
Today was the big day. I arrived at the hospital around 1115. I was taken right back and they started to prep me for the surgery. I was taken back to the OR a little after 1--it was very weird to be on the other side of things. The whole C-Section process was odd--I could feel the pressure of everything but couldn't feel the pain.
I remember hearing the doctor say "wow she has a lot of hair" and then I could feel them pulling her out and hearing a sweet little cry. She had a hard time breathing at first so that was obviously scary--but she finally got the hang of it. Maleigha Rae was born at 130pm weighing 6lbs 15oz and was 19.5 inches long. **I don't have my pictures from my camera yet but will upload them soon!!
Kelly brought Kylee up after school to meert her sister---she snapped this cute picture:

The evening went ok. Her temp was low so they put her under the warmer for a bit to bring it back up. Andrea stayed with me Wednesday evening--thank you!!!
Thursday:
We had quite a few visitors during the day which helped the day go by. I was feeling really good--I was able to get up, walk around and even shower. I had very little pain--which was great.
Thursday night was good---she likes to sleep!!

Friday:
Katrina came by Friday morning and we got to spend some time talking. A little later I got my free massage---it was great!! I was still feeling good--not very much pain.
Friday night Kelly and my parents came up. They went to grab something to eat while Katrina and I enjoyed the yummy Sushi she brought up--we even got my nurse hooked on it. My dad took Kylee home while Kelly and my mom kept me company--thank you!!
Saturday:
Today was the day we got to go home!! My mom came and got us and we headed home around 11. Kylee was excited to have us home.
Saturday afternoon we headed over to Maddy's birthday party. It was decorated so cute and we all had a great time.
Maleigha slept good Saturday night--waking up every 3 hours to eat.

Sunday:
We were all tired from the past few days so today was spent relaxing and napping. Kylee and my mom planted some flowers. Kylee also showed off her wonderful reading skills. I was able to record her reading so I will post that soon too.
Kylee loves her little sister and has been a great big sister these past few days. She has been a big help and is doing good during this transition. She LOVES to hold Maleigha and does a good job at it:

Here is another picture of them that I like:

Sunday night went good---she woke up every 4 hours to eat so decent sleep was had by all.

Monday:
It feels odd to be home but not have Kylee with me. I know she will have more fun playing with her cousins but I miss her already!!
**Happy Birthday to Maddy!! Hope you have a wonderful day!!
Before I end this post I would like to say thank you to my family and my friends for all their love, support, and help. I don't know what I would do without you all.
I want to especially say thank you to my parents--words cannot express how grateful I am for the two of you. Thank you for all your help not only through the past few days but over the past 27 years. I love you!!

Tomorrow is the day...

The past 9 months have flown by! I can't believe tomorrow is it. Although this journey hasn't been an easy one, I am ready and excited for tomorrow. I can't wait to finally meet her. My appt is scheduled for 1pm but I will check in between 11-1130.

As promised...here are the pictures of the layouts I did this weekend with Andrea. They pictures aren't all that great but they will do:

That's it for me for a few days....I will be back this weekend with some pictures!
